Learning begins with a sparking question. This aims to trigger thoughts,
stimulate consideration, and activate learners' critical thinking before the
main subject matter begins. In addition, the sparking question is expected to
attract attention and prepare learners to explore further information.
b) Concept Exploration
At this stage, the activities carried out by learners are as follows: 1)
seek and gather information from various sources to enrich the experience of
managing information; 2) interact with each other so that active learning is
realized; 3) observe various events.
At this stage of concept exploration, the teacher's role is to use various approaches and media, facilitate interaction between students, students with teachers, and students with learning resources, and actively involve students. Meanwhile, the student's role is to read, discuss, or conduct experiments and
collect and process data.
c) Elaboration of understanding
At this stage, the activities carried out by learners are as follows: 1)
reading and writing the results of exploration; 2) discussing, and hearing
opinions, to go deeper into something; 3) analyzing the strengths or weaknesses
of arguments; 4) deepening knowledge about something; 5) building agreements
through cooperative and collaborative activities and 6) getting students used
to reading and writing, testing predictions or hypotheses, concluding together,
and compiling reports or writing, presenting learning outcomes.
The role of the teacher at the elaboration stage of understanding is to
facilitate students' thinking critically, analyzing, solving problems, acting without fear, and competing. Students' roles are to report the results of exploration orally or in writing, both individually and in groups, respond to reports or opinions of friends, and submit arguments
politely.
d) Product Design
At this stage, the activities carried out by students are as follows: 1)
designing products through the Canva application. In this case, the product in
question is product packaging; 2) collaborate with team members in creating
the product; 3) print the product; 4) evaluate the product and 5) finalize the
product.
e) Brainstorming
At this stage, the activities carried out by learners are as follows: 1)
presentation of product packaging and 2) responding to questions, and constructive
input from other groups.
f) Conclusion
At this stage, the activities carried out by learners are as follows: 1)
conclude the lesson material and 2) make a quote related to the lesson
conclusion on Google Slides.
g) Feedback
At this stage, the activities carried out by learners are answering
quizzes and reflection questions, namely: 1) what new things have been learned;
2) what things should be improved and 3) what things should be improved.
